How to encrypt your messages so that only the people you want can read them

How can you share messages so that only the people you want can read it? Use MakeItPrivate.org
We The People Dissent is a bulletin board with information on upcoming protests, boycotts, call campaigns, and strikes. The URL is https://thepeopledissent.substack.com/
- Pretend I want to share details about it with a select group of people through email and social media.
- I enter the URL https://thepeopledissent.substack.com/ into MakeItPrivate and encrypt it with the keyword 'resist'
- I can then share the encrypted message (U2FsdGVkX18ub1BXs/tPGcML+kzFsTRxOaIMi/6GWcbCu4rC+V20VZqQB/oNJCA8iIBE1MRM2AS8JV0nWRRNlw==) or as a QR Code.
- Hackers have a much harder time reading your message because they don't have the keyword that you used to encrypt the message.
- The intended recipients have been told the password "resist" in advance. They just past the text, enter the keyword. Press DECRYPT and can read the message.
- That's all there is to it.

Frequently asked questions
I use SIGNAL, WhatsApp, Telegram. Why do I need MakeItPrivate?
Any mobile app like Signal requires you to provide your phone number in order to get the app. Your phone number can be used to find your location, your movements and who you are in touch with. So although the bad guys may not what you are saying, they can see who you are in touch with. MakeItPrivate does not use phone numbers or require any registration. You can encrypt messages that you send over WhatsApp, SIGNAL or Telegram as well.

Why MakeItPrivate.org
No "Paper Tiger" Security: In an era of increasing military and digital tension (the #EscalationTrap), this tool provides what we call "Mathematical Certainty." You aren't trusting a corporation; you are trusting the physics of 2256 bit encryption.
Zero-Knowledge Architecture: Unlike big-tech providers, MakeItPrivate.org never sees your password or your unencrypted data. Encryption happens entirely within your browser (client-side), meaning even if the website's servers were seized, your data remains a useless block of ciphertext.
The "Hacker-Proof" Buffer: By converting your photos and sensitive documents into encrypted text files before you send them, you create a buffer. If your device is stolen or your cloud is compromised, hackers find "meaningless noise" instead of your personal life.
Who provides MakeItPrivate?
Democracy Labs provides MakeItPrivate as a free web based service hosted in Germany. Since it is an online service you do not have to download any software. It does not require any registration either.
How can I use MakeItPrivate offline and why should I?
Visit it the MakeItPrivate website and then go offline. Go into Airplane mode on your phone. Encrypt your message while you are offline and only come back online with your encrypted message. This makes it really hard for hackers to see how you might have encrypted your message. Similarly the people who get your message can copy your scrambled message, go offline and then decrypt and read your message.
Takeaway: Keep your messages private. Encrypt them with MakeItPrivate.org
