How to make a fortune by Insider Trading with confidential info on Trump’s tariffs

Democrats Grill Officials on Insider Profits From Trump’s Tariff Reversal
“Who’s benefiting? What billionaire just got richer?” “Who in the administration knew about Trump’s latest tariff flip flop ahead of time?” Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) asked in a Bluesky post. “Did anyone buy or sell stocks, and profit at the public’s expense? I’m writing to the White House—the public has a right to know.” - Mother Jones
What Is Insider Trading?
Illegal insider trading is the buying or selling of a security by insiders who possess material that is still not public. The act puts insiders in breach of their fiduciary duty... Anybody who has material and nonpublic information can commit the illegal act of insider trading. This means that nearly anybody, including brokers, family, friends, and employees, can be considered an insider. - Investopedia
Trump crashed the stock market by announcing tariffs and then suddenly suspended some tariffs. Someone trading on that confidential information which the general public did not have, could be guilty of insider trading.

Conflicted self dealing
"Look, this is a president who is trading in his own meme coin, even as he's president, his kids are trading in their own cryptocurrency. You've got people like Elon Musk who are doing their own conflicted self dealing in the administration. In any administration this corrupt it is more than necessary to ask, were people personally profiting from insider information while people's savings, their retirement accounts were being torched?" - Newsweek

Long-lasting negative effects
"Trump's trade policies are adding more uncertainty and risk. His recent move to pause tariffs on some countries while sharply increasing them on China highlights a short-sighted strategy that could have long-lasting negative effects. His reliance on tariffs to negotiate trade deals often makes everyday goods more expensive for American families. This isn't just about protecting jobs; it's about making life harder for those who are already struggling with rising costs.
Markets thrive on stability, but Trump's unpredictable trade decisions create confusion and insecurity. While there may be some immediate benefits, like temporary stock market boosts, the constant changes can undermine long-term economic growth when the global economy is already on shaky ground. Trump's approach also ignores how interconnected our world is. Trade isn't a win-lose situation; it's about cooperation and mutual benefit. By treating it like a competition where only one side can succeed, Trump fosters unnecessary conflict and retaliation, which only harms everyone involved." - Business Insider
Did anyone buy or sell stocks, and profit at the public's expense?
Senator Adam Schiff of California has questions about Trump's 90-day pause in tariffs and possible insider trading.
"Trump is creating giant market fluctuations with his on-again, off-again tariffs. These constant gyrations in policy provide dangerous opportunities for insider trading... One week ago, Trump announced a broad 10% tariff on more than 180 countries and additional targeted tariffs on the European Union and China. The announcement sent the stock market into a tailspin, wiping out $10 trillion in three days. The stock market rebounded after Trump's announcement that many of the tariffs would be paused for 90 days, with some exceptions like China."
Several hours before the announcement and shortly after the opening bell, Trump posted to Truth Social: "THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!!". Schiff wants to know if people in the White House bought stock, knowing that Trump was going to announce the pause. - Business Insider
