GLIDE: The incredible free, multi-purpose app for grassroots activists

Organizers have a lot to do. Quickly with little time, money or technical skills.
Glide is a flexible, free app which can be set up in a few hours. It can be applied for different tasks and freely shared for use on phones, tablets or laptops. There's a premium version of Glide with more features if needed.

State Wide Indivisible Michigan (SWIM) is a grassroots coalition of Indivisible groups who work in collaboration to increase power through collective actions and shared resources. It actively protects, defend, and promotes the principles and institutions of democracy for all people. SWIM needed a solution to share information on partners and resources. The solution had to be easy for the team to update and easy to use on a phone or laptop. This blog explains how the SWIM app was set up and is used.

This could include details on groups, volunteers, donors, events... Making changes to the data will automatically refresh the data shown in the app.

Choose your layout and share

Glide makes it easy for you to choose the format that you want the information to be shown. You can choose how it should be sorted and who is able to edit the information. You choose who has access to the application. Can anyone use the app, or is a password required?

SWIM stands up for democracy

SWIM is advocating for democracy! Join the call to demand our governor stand up to the Trump administration.  We in Michigan refuse to capitulate!

The biggest thing we can be doing right now is visiting our US Senators' offices in person!  There are many groups, organizations, and individuals who have been doing so over the past couple of weeks.  We need them to STAND UP and FIGHT against this authoritarian coup.  They have done a few of the right things, and are doing more, and more loudly, since people have been flooding their offices and staff.  Keep up the pressure!

Many of our groups have signed on to a letter to Gov. Whitmer urging her to enact protections for our citizens from the Trump agenda, much like Gavin Newsom has in California.  The letter is available here.  Feel free to adapt it for your group or club!
