How do you get the facts when much of the media is controlled by billionaires with their own agenda? Media outlets struggling to survive and journalists being laid off? A flood of disinformation and little coverage of vital issues?

NOT ON OUR WATCH enable people closest to the situation share what they know - either from a personal experience, or something they've read and believe deserves more attention.

The app is free and easy to use. Pick a category (abortion ban, voter suppression...) and add details. It appears immediately on a map which can be shared with a link or embedded in a website. Use the app in either English or Spanish from a phone or laptop, without installing any software.

What inspired NOT ON OUR WATCH?

It's hard to keep track of important developments like attacks on democracy, secretly announced abortion bans and voter suppression schemes. Why should it be easier to report a traffic jam with an app like WAZE, than it is to report another MAGA scheme to take away your freedoms? So we decided to create NOT ON OUR WATCH using esri software.

Reported incidents are shown on a public map so that more people become aware of how Project 2025’s architects and allies are laying the ground to dismantle our democracy. By mapping acts of resistance and strategies to fight back, we can collectively push back to Stop Project 2025. The app comes from a collaboration between How Project 2025 Will Ruin Your Life, Stop The Coup 2025 and Democracy Labs.

We seek everyone’s help in reporting on this anti-democratic backlash – and what people are doing to resist and fight back. Our mapping project is designed to track the battle now – and our resistance. Help us make visible how to fight back.

Project 2025

Project 2025 is the US right-wing conservative movement’s extremist blueprint to replace American democracy with a Christian nationalist theocracy and strip Americans of fundamental rights. It also targets vulnerable groups and criminalizes them, including transgender and other LGBTQIA+ people, and undocumented immigrants. It reflects a blueprint for autocracy.

We are already seeing this agenda unfold with escalated attacks on our democracy and on abortion rights, immigrants, gay people, people of color, library bans, anti-DEI bans, attacks on school boards, voter suppression, attacks on the media and press freedom -- and more.
