Election interference cover-up scheme

Michael Cohen helped arrange for National Enquirer publisher American Media, Inc. (AMI) to pay former Playboy model Karen McDougal $150,000 to keep her story of a ten month affair with Trump in 2006 quiet. AMI, which renamed to A360 Media, LLC, and CEO David Pecker, later agreed to pay a penalty of $187,500 to the FEC for violating the Federal Campaign Act by making payments to suppress negatives stories about Trump.

Conceal damaging information and unlawful activity from American voters before and after the 2016 election

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. has indicted DONALD J. TRUMP, 76, for falsifying New York business records in order to conceal damaging information and unlawful activity from American voters before and after the 2016 election. During the election, TRUMP and others employed a “catch and kill” scheme to identify, purchase, and bury negative information about him and boost his electoral prospects. TRUMP then went to great lengths to hide this conduct, causing dozens of false entries in business records to conceal criminal activity, including attempts to violate state and federal election laws.  - Manhattan DA

NewsTRACS

NewsTRACS created by Wendy Siegelman uses open source data and covers power, politics and money with a focus on: the U.S., kleptocracy, graft, Trump, Russia, business and real estate deals, surveillance and influence companies and other legal but curious people and networks.

After Trump became president, few news outlets have truly innovated or disrupted their news gathering and publishing process to leverage open-source researchers and their findings. Most for-profit media companies benefit by keeping their research and findings proprietary. Wendy created NewsTRACS in 2022 to share her open-source charts and publications for free to all readers. The site includes dozens of charts and articles previously published on Medium and will feature new content going forward. Learn more at Wendy Siegelman.
