The opposite of that must be the 'would-be Christians' who would gladly sacrifice the lives of school children in mass shootings to please their gun lobby donors. Click on this StoryMap for details on school mass shootings and the MAGA Republicans in those areas behind gutting gun safety regulations.

Heroic actions to save others
In life, he dreamed of becoming a soldier. In death, he was honored with an invitation to join their ranks. Fifteen-year-old Peter Wang, who was killed while trying to help classmates escape from a gunman at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, was posthumously accepted to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point on Tuesday “for his heroic actions on Feb. 14, 2018” and then buried in his Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) uniform.
Senate Republicans block gun safety regulations
A historic year for mass shootings across the country wasn’t enough to convince conservatives that it’s time to implement some restrictions on assault rifles. Senate Republicans blocked an assault weapons ban along with universal background checks for a class of weapon designed solely for the slaughter of people. They wouldn’t even let the legislation come up for a vote.
Congress’s blatant dismissal of potential gun reforms flies in the face of what a majority of not just Americans but even gun owners say they want—more than eight in 10 gun owners support universal background checks for all gun sales, according to an Ipsos poll, while 92 percent of Americans support the same, according to a 2022 Gallup poll. - New Republic
Repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act
The MAGA Republican supporters of the of gun lobby's Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) makes it nearly impossible for the survivors impacted by gun violence to seek justice in the courtrooms.
Today, we are fighting back by forming the Campaign Against Gun Industry Accountability Coalition to pass H.R.4184 and S.2048, the Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act to #RepealPLCAA. This legislation will ensure that the survivors of gun violence will be allowed to have their day in court and the gun manufacturers, sellers and interest groups are not shielded from liability when it acts with negligence and disregard for public safety. President Joe Biden has called on Congress to #RepealPLCAA numerous times.

Sign onto THIS COALITION LETTER to Congress, and support our efforts to secure cosponsors and pass the bill to #RepealPLCAA. As of today, there are 60 cosponsors for HR4184, Representative Adam Schiff's bill and 26 cosponsors for S2048, Senator Richard Blumenthal's legislation. There are no Republican cosponsors.
The House Judiciary Committee from 117th Congress marked up HR2814 on July 20, 2022 but the bill did not have enough votes to pass on the floor. Securing cosponsors for the House and Senate bills introduced in the 118th Congress will be one of our legislative priorities for 2024. Next month, we will begin to go door-to-door with PLCAA victims Sandy and Lonnie Phillips (from Survivors Empowered) and other gun violence survivors to secure cosponsors for these bills. - Newtown Action Alliance
