In the audio tapes, Chesebro explained how the campaign planned to get fake Electoral College certificates from Michigan and Wisconsin, both states Biden narrowly won, to D.C., as they were stuck in the mail January 5. He also said the campaign had to "enlist a U.S. senator" to get the ballots to Pence in time for the certification. Ultimately, however, Pence declined to block Biden's Electoral College victory, sparking anger from Trump.
