Trying to make sense of the news about women suffering from Republican abortion bans?

Struggling to keep track of the flood of news about women being denied access to abortions and forced to carry dying fetus to term? Collect abortion ban incident facts by crowdsourcing. Share the details with a simple interface. Maps let readers get the big picture of this Republican created crisis, dive deeper for details of specific incidents, and identify the politicians responsible.

Crowdsourcing involves volunteers collecting information on incidents from the local press or online resources. This information is reviewed and displayed on a real time map. This map includes MAGA Governors and Attorney Generals who pass cruel abortion ban laws, and MAGA Senators who voted to confirm extremist justices to the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v Wade.

DemLabs and Center For Common Ground to create such a crowdsourced system with the goal of collaborating with other volunteers and groups working to protect women's rights. Find out more about collaborating on this crowdsourcing project.

18 women share heartbreaking pregnancy journeys in post-Roe world

"On the Brink on Hulu: Women detail impact of abortion restrictions on their health care. When Roe. v. Wade was overturned in June 2022, the impact was immediate. In the wake of the decision, at least 16 states have ceased nearly all abortion services. Women across the country who live in states with abortion restrictions are now forced to travel for abortion care, carry nonviable pregnancies to term or wait until they were sick enough to receive care.

In a months long investigation, 18 women from across 10 states shared their deeply personal stories, chronicling their heartbreaking journeys and how, in some cases, they were brought to the brink of death because they couldn't access timely care in their home states. The women appeared in a companion broadcast, "Impact by Nightline: On the Brink," with exclusive interviews by Diane Sawyer and Rachel Scott, which looks at the hidden health care crisis playing out in clinics and exam rooms across the country. So many families posing the question: is this what lawmakers intended? - ABC News

Republican War on Women Is a Clear and Present Danger

"The Republican Party is making it harder for a woman to be able to go to college with the confidence that their school will put their safety first. Republicans are making it so women can't afford birth control, which will likely lead to more pregnancies, which they are forcing women to carry to term even when they pose a real threat to the woman's or fetus's health (and at great personal expense, what with the lack of access to affordable health care), only to give birth to a child who will also suffer from a lack of health care and will have a mother who can't get paid family leave, affordable child care, or the same amount of money her male colleague is making." - GQ
