Protesters in Brazil have held signs that say ‘Brazilian Spring,’ a term that Bannon coined to suggest that Bolsonaro’s authoritarian thugs were carrying the torch of pro-democracy protesters in places like Tunisia during the Arab Spring. The anti-democracy rioters in Brazil attacked their nation's capitol buildings nearly two years to the day of the US Capitol Insurrection. As in the US, their passions were stoked by online influencers. In the weeks leading up to the attacks, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter were rife with election-denying content. The organizers coordinated the insurrection over the unmoderated Telegram service. - Code For All
