Georgia election result mapped by turnout, race, poverty, healthcare and more

The people have spoken... Senator Warnock

"... a vote is a kind of prayer for the world we desire for ourselves and for our children. It is faith put in action."

Do voters respond when a candidate focuses on things that can improve their lives rather than culture wars and trivial distractions?

How many people voted? Did they vote in person or by mail? Which counties had the highest turnout? How did race, poverty and healthcare impact the outcome? See for yourself with this map which provides results by county using data from the Georgia Secretary of State and esri.

What's in this map

This map was designed by DemLabs using ArcGIS Online in a few hours after the results were announced to share information in a more useful manner. It shows how campaigns that reflect people's real concerns and aspirations, do well.

Use the map to see which counties had better turnout? How did voting by mail vs. voting on election day vary by candidate? How did voters prefer to vote in each county? The map overlays demographic information on the election results. This lets you compare how factors such as race, poverty, affordable housing and healthcare may have had an influence on the election results.

Each map includes a legend that explains the color coding. Click on a county for details. Use the SWIPE to compare two maps side by side such voting results compared to the poverty level in a county. The map can be freely shared with this link or embedded in a website with this code:

Georgians want change

Georgia has the fifth highest poverty rate in the nation, with children hit the hardest. Nearly one in five Georgians are living in poverty, and one out of four  children in the state are living in poverty. The federal poverty level for a family of four is just $22,150 per year. One in three children in Bartow,  Bibb, Chatham, Clarke, Clayton, Dougherty, Lowndes,  Richmond, and Troup counties live in poverty.-  GBPI
