Republican BS Detector

Republican BS detector helps spot doublespeak

Do you understand what Republicans really mean? Test yourself with this quiz.

Doublespeak is language that deliberately obscures, disguises, distorts, or reverses the meaning of words. Doublespeak disguises the nature of the truth.

It's like FOX News claiming to be 'Fair & Balanced' while spewing extreme right-wing talking points. Or Elon Musk claiming Twitter is a 'public town square' while he turns it into a platform for trolls and disinformation.

Republicans have their own special vocabulary. Words have different meanings than what you think they normally mean. See if you can spot the real meanings with this quiz.

How fast can you spot the BS ?

It's fun to learn things in the form of a game. See how quickly you can match what Republicans say with their true meaning. Simply grab a phrase to the definition or image. Word start to disappear if you matched them correctly. The game displays 6 phrases out of 32 for you to match. See how fast you can spot Republican B.S.

Teach others to spot BS

MAGA Republicans keep distorting more words, so it's important to keep learning and teach others to spot the B.S. Use the learn mode of this app to help others with a series of multiple-choice questions. Pick the right answer to proceed to the next example of DoubleSpeak.

Why fascists hate education and learning

It's easier to bamboozle people who don't know how they are being manipulated. That's why Republicans are pushing to ban the teaching history, civics and the fight for social justice. Manipulating language and distorting the real meaning of words is essential to gaslighting people.

It's no surprise that the Republican Party — which has never been a friend of schools — has dramatically escalated its war on education on its march to becoming a fully fascist institution. Most of this is done under the guise of fighting "critical race theory. It's a real term in academia, but in GOP hands, "critical race theory" amounts to a conspiracy theory used to scare white people into supporting a full-blown assault on the teaching of history or literature in public schools. - Salon

Use the best technology to educate more people

People are busy, on the move, and with different levels of skills. How do you design training to be fun? Easy to use on a phone in a few minutes when you have some time? Allow trainers to understand which questions students are struggling with? How many people have completed the training? Add new training content to the course at any time? This course was designed with the Quizlet app which has millions of users in schools and colleges. We simply applied it to help people spot Republican BS. Quizlet has a free version and a premium version that we used for $36/year. This quiz uses cartoons licensed from Political Cartoons.

Republican party splitting into MAGA extremists and conservatives

Republican fascist doublespeak

George Orwell wrote 1984 which describes how fascists manipulate people for their political agenda. Here are some examples of how Republicans use doublespeak with excerpts from Orwell Today.

  • The Party is held together by adherence to a common doctrine. Not even the smallest deviation of opinion on the most unimportant subject can be tolerated. Liz Cheney expelled from the GOP for investigating the Jan 6th insurrection.
  • It is necessary to rearrange one's memories or to tamper with written records, then it is necessary to forget that one has done so. Republicans deny there was a violent insurrection in DC to overthrow election results. Remember Kellyanne Conway's disguising her lies as 'alternative facts'?
  • The Party knows in which direction memories must be altered and knows that he is playing tricks with reality. Justice John Roberts declares there racism does not exist any longer so the Voting Rights Act can be overturned.
  • Tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing them and to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed. Republicans claim voter fraud to justify voter suppression even though there was hardly any fraud.

Take Away: Don't fall for Republican BS and doublespeak. Learn how to spot it and train others as well with learning apps.
